Can I use an "Access Point" instead of a router for my light(s)?

Yes, you can connect to your Access Point as long as this one includes a built in DHCP-server. A DHCP-server is necessary for the basic setup of your lights. The DHCP will send out a signal and assigns an IP-address to your fixture so that the Heliospectra control software ( helioCONNECT ) will be able to communicate with your fixture. Once the lP has been assigned you'll be able to control and monitor your Heliospectra lights easily and quick.
